Many people enjoyed my first ever R.E.P.O.R.T. here on the blog during my Medieval Fantasy themed era, so I figured why not do another one for Blogtober! I have been doing a lot of festive activities, so there's new things to talk about. If you have never heard of this before, R.E.P.O.R.T. stands for Reading, Eating, Playing, Obsessing, Recommending, and Treating. It's a form of a "currently" tag that many are already familiar with.
Feel free to share your own report either on your own blog or in the comments, I'd love to see what everyone is enjoying lately.
Reading
I should be reading Ship of Destiny, the last book in the Liveship Traders Trilogy by Robin Hobb. Trust me, I have started it, but I have not been reading at all. I just go through reading phases and I burnt out once I started Blogtober prepping.
I know that in the next trilogy in the Realm of the Elderlings, we return to Fitz so I really should just finish reading Ship of Destiny, but I have so much else I'd rather do currently.
Eating
I have been eating a toasted blueberry bagel almost every day for the past two weeks, with some plant-based cream cheese on top with a sprinkle of salt. I tried to lean into the fruit in the bagel and add banana one time, but I really wasn't a fan. My mom doesn't understand why I add some salt, but it absolutely hits.
Playing
Almost every time I hang out at Dylan's, I am on the couch playing background "ambiance" videos on YouTube. I really like the classical music ones with a cute Autumnal background, but I have also done spooky Halloween sounds and ambiance and most recently, conspiracy theory bunker ambience. Yes, it exists🤣!
Obsessing
It is only the middle of the month with many more posts to go for Blogtober, but I am already obsessing on my blog theme for November! After I sewed my first pair of leggings, I started to contemplate two different options, but I think I will go with my original idea. I don't want to spoil it, bit here's some photos from Pinterest I have saved as a hint:
Trust, my second idea will happen as well, and if you know what the vibe was with the leggings then you already know that theme. That is the fun of the "monthly themes", whatever I am interested in, goes, and if I don't have a lot of knowledge on it then it is a great opportunity to explore.
Recommending
I would recommend that everyone should take a nature walk if they are able to. It doesn't have to be a hike, it doesn't have to be a trail or traveling to a park. Walking outside is enough. If you have been stuck inside all day, take a lap in the immediate outdoors that is available to you and take a few deep breaths.
Honestly, just being outside is enough! No walk required.
Treating
This month and going forward is the time for treats! There are so many holidays coming up here in the US and I foresee many leftover desserts. Currently, though, I have been treating myself to cinnamon sugar roasted pecans. They really are addicting! I can't get enough of them, and autumn is the perfect time to eat them. Dylan has been requesting pecan pie, but I'm not a pie fan so we will see if I can conjure something up for him soon.
Another treat I have been enjoying are homemade cookies. I designated a jar for cookies about two months ago and since then, mom and I have been taking turns either baking a cookie mix or making some from scratch. So far, We've had snickerdoodles, carrot cake cookies (I need a re-do), pumpkin spice cookies, no-bakes, and classic Pillsbury chocolate chip.
Conclusion
If you have been keeping up with me every day so far, I want to say thank you so much! I can't believe we have already made it to the middle of October. This year has been very transformative for my blog, and I have never been so consistent and open. That is thanks to all of the support that I have received since returning from my hiatus in April. I will have dedicated thankfulness posts in November, but I wanted to go ahead and mention it here as well since we have reached the mid-point in this blogging challenge.
Again, thank you, and I will see you all tomorrow!
